6 Unique Reception Venues In New York City

In this episode of Destination Everywhere, we will explore the six unique reception venues in New York City. Who wouldn’t want to discover where these are?

One World Observatory

Discover a destination unlike any other. The first place on the list is One World Observatory. It’s a great choice for your meetings or events. What makes this place amazing? It’s the observatory on top of one World Trade Center. It’s a great place for reception because of its floor-to-ceiling windows and plenty of space for hundreds of people. The whole experience starts with an exceptional elevator ride. When it takes you to the top, you will witness an ever-changing scene of Manhattan. That experience will always be the one for the books! But, there’s more! When you get out of the elevator, you’re exposed to the city’s most astounding and breathtaking views. It’s truly wonderful, gorgeous, and the technology in that space is unbelievably great.

Central Park Zoo

The next reception venue we have is a cool and unique spot at the Central Park Zoo. You can host a reception alongside while seeing the sea lion exhibit and views of the skyline. Some of the best skyline views are from Central Park which you can do from May to November. Rent out a space and transform it into anything you like. You can even add uplighting furniture. You will certainly love the atmosphere with all of the animals. You would also love the penguins, tropical habitat, grizzly bears, snow leopards, pandas and the famous snow monkey show!

Gotham Hall In Midtown

Located in the building that once housed Greenwich Savings Bank, the iconic Gotham Hall is a great venue for a smaller group of people because it has an Oak Room. It has a lounge area for registration which is awesome for reception and also has a mezzanine for reception dinners.

Rockefeller Center

A luxury rooftop venue for private events is certainly one you shouldn’t miss out on knowing. It’s the Rockefeller Center’s 620 Loft and Garden. It’s a rooftop venue that offers up-close views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which is a spectacular view any time of the day, especially when it’s lit up right on the 5th Avenue. It’s perfect for smaller gatherings that want a great view. The ease of access is also a very good thing about this place.

TAO Downtown

Next, we have a restaurant in Midtown, which is the TAO Downtown. The restaurant has this warm, Asian feel to it. It is one of the most beautifully constructed restaurant in New York City so you don’t even have to decorate at all. It’s perfect for receptions and dinners with its Asian fusion cuisine. It has four private dining rooms, so it’s a great choice for that type of situation in Midtown. In fact, you’ll see it in many production shows and movies that take place in Manhattan. If you want to have a reception and then go to dinner, this is the most exquisite place to consider.

New York Public Library

The last space we’re going to talk about is the New York Public Library. It’s probably not your first choice for receptions or any offsite venues for meetings and events, but the New York Public Library is a fantastic location because of its beautiful historic building. The Stephen A. Schwarzman Building has seven event spaces, and it’s located right in Midtown. Its location is closer to all the hotels which makes it a wonderful place to set your events!

These are the six unique and wonderful destinations for meetings and events in New York City. Be sure to check them out if you are planning for an event in this fantastic place!

Unique Venues For Unforgettable Experiences

Unique Venues For Unforgettable Experiences

DE 40 | Unique Venues

It is quite difficult to organize a corporate event, and it is even more difficult to make it an unforgettable experience for the attendees. Andy McNeill and Todd Bludworth delve into several unique venues, some ignored by most event planners, that can help elevate the feel and impact of any business gathering. They also talk about the many benefits these venues can offer, especially in lowering expenses and delivering that wow factor every guest will truly appreciate.

Unique Venues For Unforgettable Experiences

One element that makes any business meeting or event memorable is the venue itself. Andy McNeill and Todd Bludworth list down eight venues that can greatly improve any event’s experience and overall feel.

  1. Art galleries and museums

These open spaces give you a chance to showcase beautiful artworks to spark curiosity conversations, which is quite a vast subject you can keep on expanding upon the course of the event.

Most of the time, art galleries and museums even have catering partnerships you can take advantage of. Moreover, you may ask these establishments to invite art experts to talk on different subject matters or give brief tours, whenever available.

  1. Rooftops

Most hotels and apartment complexes in urban settings have rooftops. This is perfect for a VIP cocktail party, a welcoming event, or any social portion of your event.

Rooftops also have the advantage of offering breathtaking views of the cityscape. Just remember to pick the right time of the year when choosing this venue to make sure that the weather is clear.

  1. Warehouses and parking garages

These are usually found in old, industrial places. Just put up a tent on top of a parking garage and you have an excellent venue with an amazing view. Plus, you get strong protection against the elements and plenty of parking space.

You can level up garages by putting up the right décor and lighting. The bigger your space is, the more freedom you have in developing it according to your needs.

  1. Speakeasies

For those who love surprises, this venue is the best choice. Speakeasies are secret bars that people visit to get a drink.

Its entrances are usually found in the most unorthodox places to be hidden from plain sight. Some may be in a secret elevator inside a telephone booth, while others are located inside a library and behind a moveable shelf.

  1. City parks

There are so many open parks within cities just waiting to be used as a corporate event venue, like Lincoln Park in Chicago and Central Park in New York City. Many of them even have amphitheaters build for this very purpose.

Many people just want to be outside for a change and breathe some air, especially those who are coming from outside the cities. If these are the attendees you are expecting, be sure to secure a park for your venue.

  1. Ballpark stadiums

Since these places are not utilized all year round, be sure to consider them for a business event, specifically for huge ones. They are pretty convenient for this kind of use since most of them already have food and beverage establishments inside.

You can hold your event while another event is taking place within the stadium to deliver a more unique experience. Just be sure to look up the schedules ahead of time.

  1. Theaters

This kind of venue is great for a cocktail party or dinner. You can utilize the theater’s backdrop and maximize the available costuming to make the event even more interactive. Not only that, but this is also a chance to showcase a particular cultural heritage, maybe of your own choosing or the city where the theater is located.

Just like ballpark stadiums, you can also hold your event while a theater show is ongoing, or just hire it while closed so you can theme it out.

  1. Wineries and breweries

These venues are usually quite large and have a particular space set aside for various guest sizes and activities. Such establishments are starting to pop up everywhere, especially in traditional cities, so be sure to keep an eye on them.

Also, wineries and breweries often offer tastings, leaving you to decide which food you want to cater to. You can even have their drinks be given away to guests, which is always a lovely parting gift.
